Technology Applications Review
Presenter's Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Purpose of the Technology Applications Review?
Please refer to the TAR Description (pdf document).

Do I Need to Have a Currently Funded MDA Project in Order to Attend?
No, our mission is to help keep your technology alive so it will be available in case the MDA requires it in the future.

I've Attended Business Workshops Before. Won't This Be More of the Same?
We believe our program is different because we don't offer general-purpose advice, or try to teach "Business 101."

Our panel learns about the specific problems and opportunities that apply to your organization and technology, and therefore can offer pointed advice, often including managed introductions to well-placed contacts that might otherwise be inaccessable tp you.

What is the Meeting Format?
We meet late in the afternoon on the first day, to allow time for travel. After an introductory session, we break into small groups for a working dinner, during which the panel members will learn in depth about your organization, technology, and commercialization goals.

The second day is devoted to presentations and discussions with the entire group. The meeting website includes information to assist you in preparing your presentations.

How Many Companies Participate in the Meetings?
  A maximum of five.

Will I be in the meeting all day, or just for my own presentation?
We urge you to be present for the full session.

The panel discussions are of interest to all. Representatives from one company often participate in the discussion of another company's presentation. Finally, synergies between the participating companies may result in new opportunities.

Do I Need To Submit My Presentation Ahead of Time?
No, but feel free to do so if you wish.

We will load your slides onto our laptop prior to your presentation, or we can connect your laptop to the projector.

NOTE: It is not unusual for presenters to modify their slides after the dinner discussion on the first evening.

Do I Need to Follow the Format of the Sample Presentations Exactly?
Absolutely not! The samples are suggestions only, to get you started.

Feel free to structure your presentation as you see fit, keeping in mind the overall goals of the meeting.

Please be prepared to briefly describe the MDA origins of your technology.

What If My Presentation Runs Overtime?
The Meeting Chairman will not allow this to happen, so be sure to rehearse your presentation and ensure that it can be completed in the allotted time.

Some of your detailed slides may be reserved for the question-and-answer part of the presentation.

What About NDAs and Confidential Information?
  We do not have NDAs.

Specific details will help the panel to provide specific advice. However, it is understood that proprietary information is not appropriate for disclosure in this setting.
